Andrew and I have decided that we want to list our home for sale in 2013. It will be a big year for us, with lots of important milestones. Madeline will graduate from high school, I'll graduate from nursing school, we'll have been married for 20 years...we are ready to move forward, wherever that may lead us. Where it starts is with selling our current home. We have years and years of accumulated "stuff", some of which we want to re-home, the rest of which we need to get organized. We also have lots of little home improvement projects to do before this house will be market ready. Instead of panicking and stressing about it in the month or two before we want to list the house, we think that a more sane thing to do is to start now, a year in advance of our planned listing date, and work slowly but methodically through everything on our "to-do" list.
One of the first steps I took was to hire a friend to help me with figuring out what goes and what stays, and what to do with it all. Lindsay came over yesterday for our first consultation and worked on prioritizing and list-making. I'm looking forward to the transformation process and hope that I can use this blog as encouragement for myself to keep chipping away at the job, and as a reminder for how far I have come.
